Superstudio Design 2026: an edition that marks the beginning of a new chapter

Yesterday Superstudio Design 2026, came to a close marking the start of a new phase in the evolution of Superstudio Events. For the first time, the project unfolded across three venues, three neighborhoods, and three complementary identities of contemporary design: SuperNova at Superstudio Più in the Tortona Design District, SuperCity at Superstudio Maxi in Barona, and SuperPlayground at the new Superstudio Village in Bovisa. Three visions in a single narrative.

“Superstudio Design 2026 marked an important step forward: not only the expansion across three venues, but the creation of a project capable of bringing together content, market, and culture, contributing concretely to positioning Milan as the global capital of design. Surpassing 100,000 visitors represents a significant result for us, confirming the public response and the direction we have taken.”

The numbers of a special edition

Superstudio Design 2026 attracted over 105,000 visitors, marking a 20% increase compared to 2025. Of these, over 94,000 visited Superstudio Più, more than 8,500 visited the new Superstudio Village and nearly 5,000 visited Superstudio Maxi. This result demonstrates the strength of a project capable of expanding its boundaries while maintaining the quality of its offerings.

International participation was also significant, accounting for over 33% of the total - up from 26% in the previous edition. Further underscoring the event’s global significance, there were 3,320 accredited journalists, 353 national and international press releases, and 10 television reports, with 46% of the coverage coming from international media.

Three venues, one shared vision

With over 30,000 sqm of exhibition space, more than 90 leading brands, 70 exhibition projects, and 88 designers from 19 countries, Superstudio Design 2026 has created a dynamic ecosystem that brings together creativity, business, research, and culture.

At Superstudio Più, SuperNova Nova hosted major international brands and immersive installations, featuring names such as Moooi, Lexus, Samsung Electronics, and next125. At Superstudio Maxi, SuperCity, curated by Giulio Cappellini, envisioned an ideal city where design, art, and architecture come together in an ever-evolving urban landscape. This project was made possible thanks to the brands that contributed: from Boffi|DePadova to Cassina, from Living Divani to Moroso, from Technogym to Zanotta, along with many other highlights of international design. In Bovisa, SuperPlayground provided a platform for a new generation of creatives - 33 designers selected from over 200 international applications from more than 30 countries - solidifying its role as a concrete platform for emerging talent.

A dynamic project, blending culture and relationships

Starting with Opening Night, which welcomed over 1,700 guests with the opening performance of Yoann Bourgeois and a preview of the Moooiinstallation - the direction of this edition was clear: to foster an authentic dialogue between design, art, architecture, and performance.

This vision has found full expression in a rich cultural program featuring more than 20 talks organized by Superstudio and individual exhibitors, with international figures such as Giulio Cappellini, Marcel Wanders, Carlo Ratti, Cino Zucchi, Cristina Celestino and Alberto Alessi, alongside workshops, hands-on sessions, and live events spread throughout the week. Many exhibitors directly brought the spaces to life with parties, private events, workshops, and social gatherings, helping to make Superstudio Design a dynamic and vibrant environment.

Art also played a central role, with installations, exhibitions, and special projects. Among these was the installation Dissuader by Franco Perottithe Re.Circle program on the Roof of Superstudio Più, and Ivan Tresoldi’s new mural, which invites reflection with its message: “Only dreaming will keep us awake.”There was also great interest in the FLA – FlavioLucchiniArtMuseum, which, with its three exhibitions, welcomed approximately 15,000 visitors, further strengthening the dialogue between design, art, and fashion.

A heartfelt thank you

The success of Superstudio Design 2026 is the result of a shared vision and a collective effort. We would like to thank the visitors, exhibitors, partners, curators, designers, artists, media, and all the professionals who helped make this edition a vibrant, engaging, and memorable experience.

Special thanks to Gisella Borioli, whose vision continues to inspire the evolution of a project that, for over twenty-five years, has helped redefine Milan’s role on the international design scene. Thanks also to the Superstudio Events team, whose passion, expertise, and dedication made all of this possible.

A look ahead

As Tommaso Borioli, CEO of Superstudio Events, pointed out, this edition represents not only a physical expansion but also the creation of a model capable of integrating content, the market, and culture, thereby making a tangible contribution to establishing Milan as the world capital of design.

Laura Vella, Head of Superstudio Design, adds: “Superstudio Design is the result of an evolution, a strong and renewed commitment to quality, driven by a truly special energy. It is a testament to teamwork and relationships, care and attention to detail, professionalism, and organization. I believe this marks the beginning of a new chapter that looks confidently toward change while holding fast to our founding values, so that we may develop new ones in synergy with the exhibitors and partners who are the protagonists of our shared adventure.”

Gisella Borioli, President of Superstudio Group“I am naturally delighted to witness the growth of this project, the dedication of the young team at Superstudio Events, and the results of everyone’s hard work - all in keeping with the DNA of Superstudio Design, a citywide event I launched twenty-five years ago that has transformed the entire city. Alongside design, which is constantly evolving, I now hope to see the realm of art expand, fostering a conscious and educational dialogue of beauty among diverse expressions of creativity.”

Superstudio Design 2026 comes to a close, leaving a lasting mark of innovation, connections, culture, and the future. A new chapter begins, built on a solid foundation for shaping the future.
Superstudio Design looks forward to seeing you in 2027!
