SuperDigital is not just a technological project: it is a laboratory of possibilities. A platform that brings together disciplines, languages, and visions, demonstrating once again how Superstudio continues to be a pioneer in experimenting with new forms of experience.
Superstudio has built an advanced metaverse ecosystem, a digital archipelago accessible through different technologies such as Unreal Engine, Virtual Reality, WebGL, and the latest Gaussian Splatting technique. This set of tools has made it possible to tackle a crucial challenge: finding the perfect balance between photorealism, performance, and accessibility. The evolution of the solutions adopted was guided by the goal of finding the right balance between photorealistic quality, performance, and content accessibility, especially in live and in-event contexts.
As part of this journey, Virtual Reality opened a window onto another possible world: a Martian landscape, imagined together with a great contemporary artist. A visual narrative in which users were able to explore three cities in an imaginary future, deeply marked by the effects of climate change. A sensory journey combining aesthetics and awareness, engagement and reflection.
Unreal Engine, on the other hand, has created an interactive space designed for events , an environment in which technology responds to hand movements and transforms the viewer into the protagonist. Presented during Fuorisalone 2024, this environment brought together art, fashion, and design content in an experiential dimension that transcends the boundaries of physicality.
Finally, Gaussian Splatting has opened up a new frontier: environments that are perfectly navigable by browsers, extremely realistic, and surprisingly lightweight. A quiet but powerful revolution, capable of opening up new scenarios for museums, brands, cultural institutions, and creatives who want to take their work beyond the limits of physical space.
