Superstudio came to life in 2000 thanks to Gisella Borioli and Flavio Lucchini<\/strong> and the transformation of a disused factory into a cultural hub that would become the center of one of Milan's liveliest neighborhoods, the Tortona Design District. In fact, in the same year, Superstudio Pi\u00f9 hosted the first major design event that kicked off the widespread Fuorisalone phenomenon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The format was revamped in 2015 with the debut of Superdesign Show<\/strong>, an authorial program that changed the rules of the event and established Superstudio internationally. Confirming this twenty-year-old tradition, the new project for 2026 carries on the legacy and amplifies it through new content and formats in districts that are still largely unexplored in the context of Design Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Superstudio Design<\/a> will offer the public at Milan Design Week 2026 a multifaceted experience spread across three venues \u2013 Superstudio Pi\u00f9, Superstudio Maxi <\/strong>and the new Superstudio Village<\/strong> \u2013 ciascuna caratterizzata da un\u2019identit\u00e0 precisa e una curatela distinta.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only more space available for design, but a cultural offering multiplied by three<\/strong> thanks to the three different areas of research that will characterize each venue. A format with a global and contemporary vision, built on a consolidated international network of partnerships and collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPERSTUDIO PI\u00d9 \u2013 SuperNova, international brands, and MOOOI's special project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SuperNova<\/strong> will bring together major design brands at Superstudio Pi\u00f9<\/strong>, in the heart of the Tortona Design District, along with immersive installations, site-specific interventions, independent pavilions, and special projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among these will be MOOOI <\/strong>, which, twenty-five years after its debut in Milan at Superstudio Pi\u00f9, returns to its roots with a concept that reflects on the past while looking toward the future<\/strong>. With an essential, bright and colorful set design, the installation will reinterpret iconic pieces and showcase the brand's commitment to experimentation. Other major international brands, designers and global companies will participate in SuperNova<\/strong> bringing the indoor and outdoor spaces of Superstudio Pi\u00f9 to life with custom projects and new visions of contemporary design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPERSTUDIO MAXI \u2013 SuperCity, the city of the future and education in design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the heart of Superstudio Maxi<\/strong>, SuperCity <\/strong>will be a large collective project featuring multiple exhibitors and perspectives: an ideal city where the boundaries between design, art, and architecture dissolve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this collaborative project, an installation curated by Giulio Cappellini <\/strong>presenter\u00e0 diversi grandi brand del design disposti in un vero e proprio paesaggio urbano che vuole raccontare la citt\u00e0 del futuro. The big news for Milan Design Week 2026 is the opening of a new space in the Bovisa district, Superstudio Village. This is where SuperPlayground <\/strong>will come to life, a program dedicated to young designers, emerging studios, and creative collectives. <\/strong>It's a fresh and experimental approach that aims to reconnect with the original spirit of Fuorisalone: offering spaces to those who explore new languages and imagine future scenarios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through an international Open Call<\/strong>, which has just concluded with more than 100 applications from more than 30 countries, Superstudio has made flexible exhibition spaces <\/strong>available to selected talents, confirming its belief inthe new generations. <\/strong>A concrete commitment to making Design Week more accessible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new project for the city and the future of design <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Superstudio Design 2026<\/strong> is a project that aims to promote the culture that originates in Milan through the creation of new creative districts, the development of new connections, greater opportunities for the younger generations, and accessibility for visitors. It is a system that does not merely host content, but aims to build a new map and an up-to-date model for Design Week that combines vision, quality, and openness<\/strong>. Three perspectives that come together in a single strategic objective<\/strong>: to contribute to the development of a design ecosystem<\/strong> that grows with Milan and strengthens its role on the world stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superstudio is also working on upgrading its registration system to enable access to all venues using a single QR code<\/strong> and offering a transfer service connecting the three venues to create a dedicated transport network<\/strong> and an experience tailored to the locations and people involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
